Nudged: Wear Dresses/Skirts x4
COVID has turned me into such a slob! It’s become far too easy for me to spend my day in the same clothes I wore to the dog park or gym. Forget about hair and makeup!
And I know I feel better when I dress better. I stand taller. I walk more gracefully, like a dancer, feeling the fabric float around my legs.
So several Nudges here. I plan to pull out long-neglected items from my closet, try them on, see how they feel–how they make me feel. Decluttering will happen, and I will set aside some items to donate. I’m also hoping to hear Stacy London and Clinton Kelly in my head as they guide me in What (Not) to Wear to be my best self.
What Happened:
Days 1 and 2: It was so fun to play dress-up! I even put on jewelry and (gasp) mascara!
Day 3: I had to run a bunch of errands. Jeans + running shoes made more sense.
Day 4: Welcome to summer in San Francisco! My hands and nose were blue by the time Bear and I wrapped up our early morning walk. It was all I could do to not pull on my flannel PJs. But…I have sweater dresses. I added boots, tights, and a pretty scarf. When that wasn’t enough, I ran a sweater through the dryer for a few minutes for an extra layer and warmth and coziness. Heaven! (Plus I was really pleased with myself for sticking with the Nudge.)
Day 5: A couple of hot job requests from clients greeted me when I checked emails in the morning, so even though I had good intentions of cleaning myself up, work was my priority. Yoga clothes with muddy dog paw prints is my fashion statement for today!
The Ah-Hahs: I found myself singing “I feel pretty! Oh so pretty!” at random moments. And I do!
I didn’t quite accomplish as much as I’d imagined with this Nudge (the decluttering part still needs to happen), but it was a great start. And it was fun! I’m going to toss this one back into my bowl for a round 2.
