Nudged: Take a good book to a coffeehouse
I’m feeling a little pressure with “good.” How will I know?! I don’t want to pick a book that sucks and be stuck with it!
I need to let that stress go and focus on the point of this week’s Nudge, which is to do something that breaks up my routine and gives me a break. My notes read “Sit, sip, read. That’s it.”
What Happened: This was 100% treating myself to something nice. I got something to sip and something to nibble on. I settled in, took my time eating, and spent a good block of time simply enjoying a good book. (And it isn’t just “good,” it’s great! Whew!)
The Ah-Hahs: This wasn’t hard to do. I didn’t take away too much time from work or other obligations, and I felt calmer and more focused when I returned to the office.
But I did have to be intentional about it. I’m thinking it might be worth it to me to plan a weekly “date” with myself to do this more often.
P.S. We’re almost to #52! The final Nudge of round #3 will be shared on January 22. I’m planning a break while I regroup for round #4, and during that time I’ll be re-running some favorites. That’s where you come in: Please share in Comments one or more of the Nudges that you’ve found especially inspiring, motivating, or entertaining. Thank you!
