Nudged: Stop and smell the roses
I think the key word in this nudge is “Stop.” Get off the crazy treadmill, break out of an unhealthy routine, notice, breathe.
It’s also intended as a treat for my sense of smell, so I hope to be more aware of this as the week progresses. Maybe instead of roses, I’ll stop to smell my morning cappuccino, or freshly roasted veggies, or wet dog (a scent that strangely makes me very happy, even when it accompanies muddy paw prints across the floor), or whatever is in the air that hints at the season.
Please share in Comments what inspires you to stop and breathe this week.
What Happened: This nudge got pushed to the bottom of the to-do list until I STOPPED yesterday and went out for a long walk. I took a new route, one that allowed me to explore the campus of our City College, my first time there. And honestly, I was so into discovering new-to-me sites that I completely forgot to do the nudge until I rounded a corner and found this:
It was the scent that hit me first: a very delicate floral. And what an abundance of beauty! I slowed my pace, stopped and sniffed, took in every detail. What a treat!
The Ah-Hahs: So simple and so impactful! This nudge gave me a total re-set.
