Nudged: Buy Two Bouquets
Gosh, this one is fun. It goes back, I think, to our first round of Nudges. The idea is to buy one bouquet for myself (something I don’t treat myself to enough) and surprise a friend with the second.
Remember to follow the rules and keep this under $20. In fact, if you can share a bouquet from your garden, even better!
What Happened: The grocery budget is a little tight this week, and I considered taking a pass. But then I reminded myself how happy this Nudge makes me. I pulled bills from our emergency cash stash, and for $9.98, I picked up two small bunches of flowers.
On the way home, I left one on the doorstep of a friend’s house. I did a ding-dong ditch! Rang the bell, ran to my car, and got away before she saw who was there. Silly, I know, but so fun. And I trust she was pleased by the anonymous gift.
The Ah-Hahs: I smiled on the rest of the drive home. Amazing what such a small act of kindness can do to lift my spirits. Plus, I have some pretty flowers on my desk now, and I’ve caught myself smiling at them all week.
