Nudged: Make a List…historic sites/museums
There are two parts to this Nudge: 1. Make a list of local historic sites and/or museums I’d like to visit and 2. Make a plan to visit one.
This was inspired by pretty much every vacation Thor and I have taken. We fill our itinerary with adventures and experiences, then at some point look at each other and say “Don’t we have something like this at home?” Yep.
So this is my first step in taking advantage of the gifts my own city has to offer.
P.S. You know what would make this even more fun? Inviting a friend–or two–to join us. While you’re at it, invite them to join us in Nudging too. Please share and ask them to subscribe!
What Happened: The Sewers of Paris, the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 in New Orleans, the architecture tours in Los Angeles, and Seattle’s Underground Tour. These have been among my favorite tours in four of my favorite cities. And they all involved walking in historically interesting neighborhoods (even though two of them are underground). So that’s what I went looking for this week.
Online searches revealed several options for themed walking tours through San Francisco City Guides, including one that celebrates my own little neighborhood! And then there are the San Francisco Food Tours: Chinatown, or a taste of Little Italy in North Beach–yum! I made a list of top picks and bookmarked the websites. Not sure I’ll fit one in between now and the end of the year–or maybe I’ll be spontaneous, call up my sister, and just go for it!
The Ah-Hahs: I’ve been talking about taking a historic walking tour in San Francisco since I moved her from L.A. almost 15 years ago. It’s time to do this! I’m so pleased that this week’s Nudge got me to…take the first step. 😉
